New Kitchen!

This kitchen has gone through two updates years before previous before this 'real' update. Sometimes you have to wait for the budget to line up to be able to accomplish your dream. If you can save up the budget, it's so worth it. You will be so appreciative that you could make your space what you wanted! In addition to the kitchen makeover, the dining area got one too!

The Process!

The all white shaker style cabinets and the tile were ordered in April. In the meantime, water lines were moved under the floor (in the basement) to put the refrigerator in its new spot. Although, the fridge wasn't moved until about a month later,, the line was in place. An additional water line was extended to the right corner of the kitchen for a prep sink that would be put in eventually.

The cabinets arrived mid-May, so the old cabinets were then taken out. Walls were primered in the kitchen and dining room. The dining room was premired with a special mix primer to help eliminate the dark green color that was there. The new cabinets all got put in and the refrigerator was moved to its new spot. The dining room length walls were painted a bold blue which extends into the kitchen up over the upper cabinets.

Peel and stick wallpaper was ordered (a couple of times...) and was applied to the 8'x10' adjacent wall to the long wall. It is now a light & medium grey brick print to give the room some texture. It really looks amazing!

The island was next. The location decided on and it was nailed down. The new garbage cabinet is on the end. The island is a molasses color,, same cabinet style as the white perimeter cabinets.

This was the time some items had to be returned and new items ordered. The stove hood looked too big, so a different one was ordered.

The island panel looked too plain, so that was exchanged as well. It looks very good now that it has an outline moulding design on it. Toe kicks were all put into place.

In June the countertops were measured for, but there were issues with the company getting the perimeter countertop. The whole job has been delayed and the countertops are still not installed. There may be hope for next week. But there is a rainbow within that dark cloud that we did see the island countertop and it was decided that it was not liked anymore! A new quartzite was chosen. It will have a much more upscale appearance! It's a stunner!

The dining room is now transformed into a family sitting area since the dining room table rarely got used. So furniture was ordered and a whole new vibe has transformed! Color theory and pop was given to really elevate the style.

Until the last few items arrive like the hood and the countertop,, we cannot tile the backsplash area. The glass for the cabinets also have to be chosen yet! eeek! Confident it'll all be done in two weeks...!!! Check back for updates as they happen!

Update!!!

*The blue tile and the focal point tile over the stove was completed!
*Just last weekend (11/10/23), an OPEN HOUSE was held to showcase this stunning kitchen remodel.

This re-model took up to 7 months to complete. A fine example to plan extra time for delayed products.
